Roadside Testing

Posted by Alan Woodland | Jun 11, 2021 | 0 Comments

A frequently asked question is, "Did I have to do the roadside tests?"

Roadside testing

The short and correct answer is NO.

You can politely and firmly decline to participate.

The roadside tests are called Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST). There are only three "validated" tests, meaning only three tests should be given by the officer. They are 1) HGN or eye test, 2) WAT or walk and turn, 3) OLS or one leg stand.
